This week we studied what to say when meeting someone for the first time, had an overview of the language and started to look at katakana, learnt the names of a few food items and how to say "what's this?"
If you manage to get BBC talk Japanese before next week, look at chapter 1 and do as much as you can of that chapter.
Try to learn the first 25 katakana. You can test yourself here:

There are loads of links on this page to resouces for learning Japanese - try a few of them.

There are also worksheets on Blackboard in the folder marked katakana, if you still haven't managed to log onto blackboard by next week, let me know. http://yorkstjohn.blackboard.com/webct/entryPageIns.dowebct
