Week 2

We have now just about completed the material in chapters 1 and 2 of BBC talk.
If you don't have the book yet, please try to get it ASAP. Either from Amazon or the BBC website. http://www.bbcactivelanguages.com/OurProducts/JAPANESE.aspx

Make sure that you complete all the exercises in those chapters - especially the Now You Are Talking section.

To recap - last night we learnt how to ask and answer about nationality and occupation, we also practiced yes/no questions as well as questions with nan (what) and doko/ dochira (where).

There is information on blackboard in the Vocab Building folder about these topics (the content may be slightly different but there is no harm in learning extra words!)

KATAKANA- by next week you should be able to recognise the basic katakana (without the sound changes or combinations) On Blackboard there are links to a number of websites where you can practice recognition with games.

In next week's lesson we will spend some time in the language lab (at the top of the Fountains Building) so you can familiarise yourself with the equipment there.

Any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.
